I hope you all had a great week and got to do some fishing somewhere this week.
My week was full which I am thankful for. I continue to be amazed and surprised by all the support from our clients and friends.
The fishing report for the week is not super exciting. Again this week we struggle to produce any substantial numbers of salmon and have changed our approach from targeting Kokanee to targeting trout and perch with a chance at some salmon. The salmon we are catching are big and fat but putting together a cooler of salmon has been tough. This all could change any day with some days the salmon are in a better mood and we have better success. This being said we want to prepare you all for the grind to get the salmon to bite.
Kokanee tactics are trolling in the mornings and trying to work some schools jigging around 10:00. The schools are tough to work as they are moving a lot and there are a lot of small schools scattered around the lake.
Browns and Rainbows are still biting in the morning hours but that bite really tapers off after about 9:00. Trolling tactics with pinks and orange color squid/spinners has been productive.
Catching Laker pups at 90-100 ft trolling spinners and spoons.
Perch fishing has been great with some days producing some better fish in the 10-11 inch average.
Whats do our guided fishing trips look like right now? Right now we are doing our best to put clients on fish so generally we will start out with pursuing some trout and salmon in the early hours. After that bite tapers off we talk to our clients and see what they would like to do. We can pursue perch or we can pursue salmon by jigging.
