Today I took the kayak and scouted some big schools of crappie grouped up on Crawford Reservoir. Looks like it should be another great ice fishing season once we get ice. Saw only a couple small coves in the shallows that had a little ice. With cold temps all this week forecasted we will see if we get some ice out of it.
Caught several crappie on some pklures and a few in some small tube jigs. Crappie were sitting at about 20-30 feet suspended and few schools were deeper. Trout are feeding around the Crappie so I caught several trout as well. Best of luck everyone and be safe.
